Alouette's - Charleston, SC

Soul Food.  That's what we came for and that's what we got.  As soon as we walked into Alouette's we were made to feel welcome.  A hello and a quick chat with the owner and then some delicious fruit sweetened tea.

Follow that up with some delicious fried shrimp with a (I believe) mayo based, spicy dipping sauce and perfect french fries.  The breading on the shrimp was not over-thick like most fried shrimp and the shrimp were big and fresh.  We gave them a 3.75

I had the fried baloney sandwich (beef, with no fillers - they don't serve pork here.)  The sandwich came with tomatoes, onions, lettuce, cheese and the perfect amount of sauce.  The salad it came with was amazingly fresh, not even the slightest bit of wiltiness (Made-up Word of the Day) on any of the lettuce.  I believe them when they say it's made with Love!  We gave it a 4.0!

Don't come here if you're looking for a quick dine and dash.  They take their time here to do everything perfect.  We will be back!
